Kajal recalls her first week at Acacia, which was marked by a surprise visit from the CQC inspector. Despite the initial intensity, Kajal expertly managed the situation, working with the inspector to identify areas for improvement. This event is a testament to her leadership skills and adaptability.
During her tenure, Kajal has encountered numerous challenges common in the care industry, particularly in recruitment and people management. While securing customers has become an effortless task for Acacia, finding suitable carers remains a nationwide challenge. To tackle this challenge, Kajal and her team have implemented innovative recruitment strategies, including incentives, social media outreach, attending jobs fairs and recently hosted an Acacia open day. This approach ensures that the company attracts compassionate and dedicated individuals who uphold its values.
Kajal’s motivation stems from the supportive team environment at Acacia. She emphasises the collective passion for caregiving and effective communication, fostering a work culture that prioritises customer’s wellbeing.
One of Kajal’s highlights is the annual customer event, where all members of the office team, Acacia Angels, customers and their families come together to celebrate. Witnessing the joy and smile everyone’s faces reinforces the relationships that underpin their commitment to quality care.
