What is a Franchise and what does it mean to own one?
Owning a franchise means that you will own and run your own business, not run your business on your own!
Business format franchising is the granting of a license by one person (the Franchisor) to another (the Franchisee), which entitles the Franchisee to trade as their own business under the brand of the Franchisor, following a proven business model. The Franchisee also receives a package, comprising all the elements necessary to establish a previously untrained person in the business and to run it with continual assistance on a predetermined basis (including a predetermined agreement length, with renewal options).
Do I need to be experienced in the care industry to join Acacia Homecare?
No, you do not need to be experienced in the care industry, but all of our franchise owners are caring and know the importance of providing a high quality service of care.
Do I need to know how to run a business?
The beauty of owning a franchise is that you will receive initial training and ongoing support on how to run your business from experienced professionals. You will also be part of a network of professionals from all walks of life that work collaboratively to help each other grow.
Where some franchise owners have previous experience of running their own business, many others come from the corporate world or have only worked for someone else.
What would my role be in the business?
Your role can be one of many you chose, however, the majority of owners focus on business development and running the business, leaving the care specific roles to employed staff.
How big could my franchise be?
It can be as big as you want it to be. The people requiring care from the private sector is growing year on year. Quite simply, the better you are, the more people will want your services.
Can I do this from home?
No, this is not a home based opportunity. All of our franchise owners will have an office in the territory where they operate, where your team will operate from.
How much money will I need to setup the franchise?
You will need in the region of £50k – £100k, something that can be supported through our relationship with major high street banks.
How long does it take to startup?
Once you have joined Acacia Homecare, our team will assist you in gaining your accreditation from the regulatory body, setting up and hiring the relevant staff. Whilst doing this, our collaborative process can enable you to start your business as quickly as possible.
